June 22, 2017

Dr. Matthew Prater, a Chemistry/STEM Teacher from Highland High School in Gilbert, is visiting PSCLab for one summer month to participate in the High-School Teacher Training Program (HTTP).

Dr. Prater will learn about Prof. Ren’s research and develop research course module related to Internet-of-things (IoT) technology for high school students. The developed course module will be implemented in the Dr. Prater’s classroom in the upcoming Fall and Spring semesters.

This HTTP program is part of the education plan of Prof. Fengbo Ren’s CAREER award project funded by National Science Foundation (NSF). The objective of this training program is to increase the level of literacy and interest of high-school students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields, through the development and dissemination of advanced course work related to IoT technology.
